How to play Feetle
Every Feetle puzzle hands you a four-letter start word, and the finish line is always FEET. Change one letter at a time. Each step must be a real word, and letters stay in their spots: you swap them but never shuffle them.
A short one: HEAD becomes HEAT (4th letter, D to T), HEAT becomes FEAT, and FEAT becomes FEET. Three steps. That's par for HEAD, since no ladder from HEAD is shorter.
Par shows before your first move, and every step over it adds +1 to your result. Undo is free, hints come in three levels, and the full rules are on how to play Feetle.

Stuck on a Feetle? Hints and answers
Some start words have only one way out. COLD is one: there are 15 one-letter changes from COLD that make a word, and only COLT gets you any closer to FEET. From there the ladder runs through CELT (a prehistoric stone tool) to FELT and FEET.
When you hit a wall, the Feetle answer page has today's hints in three levels: which letter to change, the next word with letters blanked out, then the next word itself.

Feetle vs Wordle
People often search "feetle wordle", and the two share a routine: one puzzle a day, the same for everyone. The puzzle itself runs the other way around.
- In Wordle the answer is hidden and you get six guesses. In the Feetle word game both ends are on screen from the start, your word at the top and FEET at the bottom.
- Wordle words have five letters. Every Feetle word has four.
- Wordle colors your letters. Feetle only checks that each word is real and one letter away from the last.
- A Wordle score counts guesses. A Feetle score counts steps against par, the length of the shortest possible ladder.
The skill is different, too. Wordle rewards knowing which letters turn up most. Feetle rewards knowing which words sit next to each other. MOON to FEET takes five steps (MOON, MOAN, MEAN, MEAT, FEAT, FEET), and there are 9 different five-step routes. Seeing one quickly is the game.

Feetle and Poople
The Feetle word game began as a spin-off of Poople, a daily word ladder where every puzzle ends at POOP. Same rules, different finish line.
By chance, in our word list POOP has 12 words one step away and FEET has 12. The idea itself is much older than either game: Lewis Carroll published word ladders as Doublets in Vanity Fair in 1879, with puzzles like turning HEAD into TAIL.

Not the League of Legends Feetle
There's a second game called Feetle that has nothing to do with words. It's a League of Legends guessing game where you name a champion from a picture of their feet. This site is the Feetle word game only.
Why this Feetle puzzle differs from other Feetle sites
The Feetle word game is played on more than one site, and each one picks its own daily start word. We choose each start word from our own list of 2,507 everyday words, number the puzzles from #1 on Oct 18, 2026, and publish each answer the same day. We don't copy another site's daily word or its word list, so our #5 and someone else's #5 are usually different puzzles.
Our word list is also wider than some: 3,852 words built on ENABLE, a public-domain list many word games use, so FETA, FETE, FERN and LEET are all fine. If another site turns down a word that works here, that's its list, not your spelling. The solver has an Only common words switch for exactly that case.

How hard is today's Feetle?
Difficulty in the Feetle word game follows the week: Monday is the gentlest and Sunday the longest. Start words are everyday words; the ones in between can be odder, like CELT or FEOD.
| Day | Par | Everyday start words at that par |
|---|---|---|
| Monday and Tuesday | 4 | 718 |
| Wednesday and Thursday | 5 | 943 |
| Friday and Saturday | 6 | 318 |
| Sunday | 7 | 62 |
Sunday's pool is the smallest, because only 62 everyday words in the list sit seven steps from FEET. That's still enough that no start word comes back within a year.
Words one step from FEET
Every ladder in the Feetle word game ends on one of these 12 words: BEET, DEET, FEAT, FEED, FEEL, FEES, FELT, FRET, KEET, LEET, MEET and WEET. Half of them only change the first letter, so if you can reach any word ending in EET, you're one move from done.
When you're stuck, work backward. FEEL comes from HEEL, PEEL or REEL, and FELT from BELT, MELT or PELT. FEES is the busiest junction near the end, with 24 words one step from it, so a plural is often a quick way in: TOES, FOES, FEES, FEET.
Of the 3,757 words in our list that can reach FEET at all, 1,428 are exactly 5 steps away, the most common distance. The farthest is UNAU, 13 steps out. 94 words, IRON and ONCE among them, can't get there at all.
Feetle questions
When does a new Feetle puzzle come out?
A new puzzle goes live every day at 08:00 UTC. In the US that's 4 a.m. EDT on the East Coast and 1 a.m. PDT on the West Coast while daylight saving time is on (the second Sunday in March to the first Sunday in November), and 3 a.m. EST or midnight PST through the winter. In Sydney it's 7 p.m. AEDT from the first Sunday in October to the first Sunday in April, and 6 p.m. AEST the rest of the year.
Can I play Feetle puzzles I missed?
Yes. Every past puzzle is in the Feetle archive, fully playable and linked to its answer page. Replays are saved in your browser but don't count toward your daily streak.
Why won't Feetle accept my word?
There are three reasons a word bounces. It isn't four letters, it changes more than one letter from the word before, or it isn't in our list of 3,852 words. The list has no names, no abbreviations and no slurs or crude words, so a word can be real and still miss.
Is the Feetle word game free?
Yes, and there's nothing to sign up for. The site shows no ads, and your stats stay in your own browser.
Does Feetle work on phones?
Yes. It runs in the browser on phones and computers, with an on-screen keyboard. There's nothing to install.
What does par mean in Feetle?
Par is the length of the shortest possible ladder from the start word to FEET. You can't beat par, only match it; each extra step shows as +1, +2 and so on.
Is there a Feetle unlimited mode?
Yes. Feetle Unlimited deals a fresh start word every round, on easy, medium or hard. It keeps its own scores and never touches your daily streak.
Where can I find today's Feetle answer?
On the answer page, with three hints before the full ladder. For a puzzle from another site, enter its start word in the solver.
Is this the same Feetle as other Feetle sites?
No. feetle.games is an independent, fan-made take on the Feetle word game, with its own daily puzzles and numbering. It isn't affiliated with any other website.
Is it spelled Feetle, feetl or feetke?
Feetle: FEET plus the -le ending that Wordle made famous. It gets typed as feetl or feetke a lot (K sits right next to L), and either way you've landed in the right place.
